A Uintah County man is facing felony burglary charges for an incident that took place on Christmas Eve. 36-year-old Lorenzo M. Florez is charged with misdemeanor charges of Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass, and Impersonation of an Officer, as well as 3rd Degree Felony Attempted Burglary. According to court documents, Florez entered the porch area of a Uintah County home on December 24th. “He took a sprinkler from the location and broke it and attempted to use a wire from the sprinkler to gain entry into the home. The home owner told the defendant to leave but he would not,” shares the report. The homeowner called police as Florez continued to try and break into the home. Police arrived and Florez claimed that he was a federal agent. The officers did not believe his claim and arrested him instead. Florez is scheduled for a status hearing on January 10th.
