A man was arrested last week after an alleged domestic assault at his home in Uintah County. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers responded to the home and spoke with the victim and multiple witnesses, stating that the assault occurred after Jesse Roy Nash became angry about trash and beer cans left in the yard. Officers noted bruising and injury to the victim that coincided with the claimed assault, including of being grabbed by the throat and having pressure applied. Witnesses reported to the officers that Nash had left, driven to the back of the property and fired off multiple gunshots. As officers spoke with the victim and witnesses, a vehicle could be heard quickly accelerating towards the home. It passed in front of the property and then heavily braked, narrowly missing a parked patrol vehicle with an officer inside. Jesse Nash exited the vehicle and would not listen to commands prompting officers to utilize a taser to take him into custody. When interviewed, Nash admitted grabbing the victim by the throat and holding her down, saying she had struck him. It was determined that Nash was the predominant aggressor and he was booked into Uintah County Jail on the offenses of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop at the Command of Law Enforcement, and Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child.
