A Uintah County man has been charged with Attempted Aggravated Murder after allegedly attempting to murder his stepson and threatening to kill his wife. Court documents state that: On or about January 18th, 2023, in Uintah County, deputies responded to an assault call. The defendant called dispatch and stated that he had attempted to kill his step son and had threatened to kill his wife who wasn’t on scene. Deputies located the defendant who stated he took a .22 into his stepson’s trailer and went into his bedroom with the intent to kill him. While speaking with the defendant, deputies noticed the odor of alcoholic beverage. The defendant has been court ordered not to consume alcohol. Deputies learned the defendant had cut the safe open where the .22 was locked to get the rifle. The defendant is a Category I restricted person because he’s been convicted of aggravated assault, a violent felony and was just placed on probation for that felony two days prior. The defendant was not invited into his stepson’s trailer but entered unlawfully with a firearm and with the intent to commit a felony. 50-year-old David Michael Parker was booked into Uintah County Jail on felony charges of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Aggravated Burglary, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon By A Restricted Individual, and misdemeanor Intoxication.
