The state of Colorado is offering small businesses loans to those that were affected by I-70 closing due to flooding, mudslides and rockslides. According to Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a disaster declaration for Mesa County as well as Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Rio Blanco and Routt counties in Colorado and even Grand and Uintah Counties in Utah was approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration. In an article by the Business Times Staff it states, “Nonfarm businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and private nonprofit groups could qualify for economic injury disaster loans of up to $2 million to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses that could have been met had the disaster not occurred. Loans may be used for accounts payable, fixed debts, payroll and other bills. Eligibility is based on the financial effects of the disaster.” Those wishing to apply or who need additional information can visit the website located at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov.
