The Uintah County Library has received the Utah Quality Library Award from the Utah State Library Division for the second year in a row. “This is an award for going above and beyond our yearly benchmarks,” shares Library Director Karen England. “Each library has to have time towards training, time towards programming, among other things. The quality award takes that a bit further. So you’ve met these standards, what did you do more than that?” For this year and past years, there have been 9 areas measured to determine if a library has gone above and beyond. As a small rural library, Uintah County Library only needed to exceed the standard by 5 areas. “Not only did we get those 5 but we got all 9 which is really, really great,” says England. “The state library is updating it for next year. There will be more benchmarks and, knowing this staff, they will want to achieve all of them.” Congratulations to the entire team at the Uintah County Library and thank you for the great services provided for the community.
