As the new craze of bake-off reality television eats up your time, there is a chance to take part in the voting of a very real baking competition. The Uintah County Library will be hosting the Edible Book Festival. There will be two categories for competitors, teens ages 12 to 18 and adults ages 19 and up. The rules for the contest is as follows: the edible books must be made of food, supplied by the contestant, and everything has to be edible. Creatively the contestants can design the cakes to look like book covers, scenes from a book, characters, or the author, anything they would like to create, as long as it’s inspired by a book and is made of out food. The event will be on Saturday, September 14th, at the large conference room with check in at 10am. This could easily become a family tradition, so please plan to participate. Since registration forms are not officially due until September 12th individuals have plenty of time to come up with some creative ideas and prepare the ingredients and tools.
