Uintah County Jail Inmate Suffers Fatal Medical Event On Monday

An investigation into the death of a Uintah County Jail inmate is underway. Uintah County Sheriff’s Office shared on Monday that, on March 11th at approximately 6:40am, a state inmate housed in the Uintah County Jail suffered a medical event while eating breakfast. “Staff responded quickly and rendered aid until ambulance crews arrived and transported the individual to a local hospital where he passed away,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “An investigation into the death is ongoing, but the death does not appear suspicious and foul play is not suspected.”
