2017 was an excellent year for the Uintah County Heritage Museum. An annual report was made during the Museum Advisory Board meeting last week stating that last year was the second largest year for cumulative visitation. The Museum gathers its data using a guest registry and was recorded as bringing in 14,578 visitors. The possibility of getting a door counter like the one utilized at the library may be considered sometime in the future. The new program “Museum Kids”, which brings preschoolers into the Museum, is credited with bringing the Museum’s weekly numbers up. The Museum board also discussed the holiday schedule, acknowledging that the Museum has a different mission than the other County entities. It was agreed that holidays are important times to have the Museum open in order to serve the public. No official change was made to the holiday schedule, though the board is exploring the possible changes.
