Uintah County GOP Chairman Discusses Election And Filling Treasurer Vacancy

Uintah County Republican Party Chairman Kason Goodrich visited the Evans Family Media studios for an interview and of course the election was among the topics discussed. “This election is really, really important for our county,” said Goodrich. “There are things on the ballot that will impact our county for years to come depending on how that vote goes…I’m not going to give a position either way on those proposals but you should study out and understand what proposals are there. We want every registered voter to show up and vote this year.” Goodrich also spoke about the Uintah County Republican Party Committee’s current responsibility of submitting a name to the Uintah County Commission for the vacant Uintah County Treasurer position. Goodrich expressed appreciation for Wendi Long and her many years of service to the county. He said they are actively taking applications and while they certainly hope for someone with professional accounting background and possibly even government experience, neither is required to apply. State law requires that an applicant be a U.S. Citizen, have lived in Uintah County for at least a year prior to the date the office is taken, and be registered to vote in Uintah County. The Uintah County GOP requires the applicant to be a registered Republican. Time is of the essence so those interested are encouraged to get their application in. Applications should be submitted to Uintah County Republican Party Chairman Kason Goodrich at kwgoodrich@gmail.com. Applications will be accepted no later than October 20th though the vacancy may be filled prior to October 20th. Questions can be directed to Goodrich at 435-219-1860.
