Lightning is to blame for a fire in Uintah County that started over the weekend. According to Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond, a lightning strike near Blue Mountain caused the blaze
on Saturday evening
which was initially reported as 3 acres. Crews from Jensen Fire Department, BLM, and the state responded. Uintah County Sheriff’s Office provided an update
on Saturday night
, stating the fire was west of Blue Mountain in a remote area of Cliff Ridge with no structures in the area.
On Sunday evening
, the Sheriff’s Office reported that the fire was at 35 acres and there were three engines with several more scheduled to come on Monday.
