Uintah County approved an election agreement for local entities that request that the county handle their elections. We are still waiting to see if there will be a county wide election within districts, shares Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins, but Ballard City, Maeser, Ballard water, and Ashley Valley are ones that have contacted Uintah County so far to perform their elections. Under the recommendation of Wilkins, the Commission approved the agreement for the 2017 election year, adopting a form that the entities can request rather than having each individual entity come before the Commission for approval. While on the topic of the 2017 election, Commissioner Bill Stringer asked Mr. Wilkins if there was a fact sheet created concerning PROPOSITION 1. He indicated that questions early on have focused on disbursement and how the funds would be divided. Wilkins said if the county makes the decision to include it on the ballot then a fact sheet would be made and a flier would be mailed to every household with information on PROPOSITION 1.
