The Uintah County Commission is exploring the purchase of property for future growth of certain county operations. During a special work session on April 24th, the Commission discussed the potential purchase of property located at 1170 East Main Street. “The intent behind this discussion is straightforward: ensuring the County Road Department has the space it needs to continue serving Uintah County effectively as our community grows,” shares a Uintah County announcement. “The current road shop has served the county well for many years, and staff have made it work within its limits. This potential move isn’t about replacing something that’s broken—it’s about planning ahead so the department can operate more efficiently and keep up with increasing demand.” The county also shares that the proposed property is approximately double the size of the current road shop location, has existing utilities already in place, already has significant asphalt coverage, and has existing structures that can be adapted for operational use.
