Before getting down to business during Monday’s Uintah County Commission meeting, Uintah Wrestling Coach Gregg Stensgard thanked the Commission for their support of Tournament of Champions and reported on this year’s competition in January. Weather kept 4 teams from coming but 27 teams still made it and fans showed up. He said the tournament is the best run he’s seen and thanked Derk Hatch and the Western Park team for their hard work. The rest of the meeting focused on business items. A Sharp copier maintenance agreement was approved, two roads in subdivisions were accepted as part of community development and an updated 2016 Zoning map was approved. This means all zone changes from 2016 have now been updated and compiled in the new map available online. The Commission held the first public meeting for the Community Development Block Grant and also agreed to begin the process required for expanding several special service district boards.
