The Uintah County Commission approved a policy statement for the Vernal Regional Airport required by the Department of Transportation on Monday. Uintah County Attorney Jonathan Stearmer explained that the documents were received from GDA Engineering and that the annual policy statement is required under the FAA. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program is aimed at providing opportunities to minorities and women who are presumed under this program to be socially and economically disadvantaged. The agreement is based on the policy used by the Salt Lake International Airport. The Commission unanimously approved the policy.
