With the snow melted and weather improving it is cleanup time around the Basin. Uintah County’s spring clean up is ongoing and will be assisted by free landfill week coming up April 22nd through the 29th. “This gives us a full week and two weekends to get our yards cleaned up and be able to take our trash to the landfill with no cost to the residents,” shares the county announcement. Residents on the west side of the county can take their garbage to K&K Sanitation transfer station in Ballard for no charge during those dates. Yard waste and trash from the home are free to dispose of during those dates but unsecured or uncovered loads will be charged double the regular price. Some items like refrigerators have a charge so it’s important to let the staff know at the landfill entrance what you have. “Uintah County is a beautiful place to live…Keep it clean and looking beautiful…Take advantage of the free landfill days [April 22nd – 29th.]”
