Uintah Boys Wrestling Wins 5th Consecutive State Title

The Uintah Boys Wrestling team secured their 5th consecutive state title this week at the state competition in Orem. The team dominated with 362 team points over the 2nd place Timpanogos High School with 171 points. Individual titles were awarded to Maddax Hacking, Ethan Sharp, Michael Alexander, Rykan Hacking, Brody Rhoades, and Parker Streight. This was Michael Alexander’s 4th individual state title making him the first student-athlete in Uintah Wrestling history to do so. He was also named the 4A Outstanding Wrestler of the Year for the lower weights for the 2nd consecutive year. Joshua Garcia and Caden Young each finished 2nd in their respective weight classes while many other Utes made the podium as well. The team will receive a police escort as they parade through Vernal today, February 13th, starting at about 2:30pm on Highway 40 from Lowe’s to 500 West, then onto 500 West back around to Uintah High School. The community is invited to come out and celebrate the Uintah Boys Wrestling state title!
