Uintah High School is celebrating several athletes. Uintah High Boys Basketball player Dauson Gardiner broke the record for career points with 1,372 points. This surpasses the record set by Josh Speirs from the Class of 2022. Speirs scored 1,197 career points. Gardiner also set the record for most points in a single season this year with 441 points. Speirs held the previous record with 434 points. Other Uintah athletes have been recognized by the Utah High School Activities Association. Balancing school and sports takes a lot of work and six Uintah High student-athletes were recognized last week with the Academic All-State Award for the winter sports season. Paul Buschkowsky and Stockton Jolley for Boys Swimming; Lauren Labrum for Girls Basketball; and Brayden Murray, Dauson Gardiner, and Angel Rios for Boys Basketball each earned the award, which is considered the most prestigious honor UHSAA presents to senior student-athletes. Well done to this group of academic athletes!
