A group of talented young musicians are ready to bring the beauty of the arts to the Basin this weekend. The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra’s spring concert is being held this Saturday and an impressive program is in store. UBYCO’s co-conductors are each musicians in the Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus, the youth orchestra’s parent organization, and each support the youth orchestra as a feeder program into UBOC. “Not only are these youth getting the experience of learning challenging music but they are also learning ensemble-ship,” shares Co-Conductor and Assistant Director Christopher Davis. “It is so important for these youth to learn to play together; that it’s not about an individual sound but an ensemble sound. It is also important for them to have experience working with other musicians and learning from different directors and conductors as they prepare for an organization like UBOC.”
