Uintah Basin Water Summit a Success

The Uintah Basin Water Summit welcomed state and local leaders to the Grace Event Center in Roosevelt on Wednesday. Many speakers addressed water issues in the Basin and of course the low snowpack was a topic of concern. On average, the Basin snowpack is at about 13 percent of normal but the reservoirs average about 89 percent of normal. It was noted that it’s not time to panic and that the next few months could bring moisture. Presenters noted that most of the state is suffering with the exception of northern Utah. Director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources Mike Styler made the comment at the end of his speech that one thing to be sure to do is to keep rain in your prayers.
