The Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus has announced their return to performing for the Uintah Basin. Christmas 2019 was the last concert performed and it was under the direction of then guest conductor Dr. Cory Evans. After taking all of 2020 off due to the pandemic, the orchestra and chorus are preparing for a 2021 Christmas concert once again under the direction of Dr. Cory Evans, but this time in his position as the new UBOC Artistic Director. “We are so excited to get back together and celebrate Christmas!” shares UBOC Chairman Brandt Emery. “It has been hard on everyone in and out of the organization to see Covid through, but we feel optimistic about the future and look forward to making wonderful music again!” The organization is inviting all previous performing members to come back and perform. “All previous requirements about having to audition again are gone,” explains Emery. “Once you audition and are accepted, you’re in for life.” For all new potential participants, auditions are now open for the choir and orchestra. All are invited to visit https://ubocmusic.org/auditions-page/ to learn how to be part of an amazing Christmas concert experience. For more information, visit www.ubocmusic.org.
