Now that we are in 2021 it is time to start the year off recognizing that the Basin offers some truly amazing things. We are very grateful to all our healthcare workers but we need to point a finger of attention to the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine team of Uintah Basin Healthcare. Already known to be ranked in the top 10% in the nation for their healing outcomes over the years, the team was able to close out the 2020 year as being ranked third in the nation for their comprehensive healing rate. Chronic wounds affect approximately 6.7 million people in the United States. 1 in 4 family members are affected, and that number is expected to rise at a rate of 2% annually over the next decade. Through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy the team treats dozens of medical conditions including foot ulcers, radiation injuries to tissue and bone, and more.
