Uintah Basin Healthcare Offering Financial Relief During COVID-19 Pandemic

by | May 8, 2020 | News | 0 comments

Uintah Basin Healthcare recognizes that COVID-19 has created many challenges to the community and they are doing what they can to help. In a press release, UBH outlines what they can do to help relieve the financial burdens that patients might have with their account balances. The hospital is working with their collection agencies to “notify patients of opportunities to receive a discount on their balance currently in collections.” At a time when scams are prevalent, the hospital clarifies what a patient might be able to expect from their partner collection agencies: Link Debt Recovery, Mountain Land Collections or Frontier Recovery. A phone call will be similar to the following: “Our records indicate you may have an outstanding balance with our client. With the uncertainty of COVID-19, we want you to know that we will work with you as much as we can during this time of need.” Any text message will have our account number included in the text. UBMC is also working with the company that sends out their statements, Millenia Payment Services, to offer relief by extending payment plans from 12 months to 18 months. Finally, Access One, the hospitals finance company, is allowing patients 12-month financing, interest free, with a 60-day deferral if needed. If you have any questions or concerns, contact a UBH Patient Financial Advocate at 435-725-2060 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am to 5pm. These financial relief options are available through June 1st, 2020.
