An event called ‘Community Matters’ is being hosted
on November 7th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
at the Union High School. The purpose of this event is to bring awareness and prevention on topics such as mental health, suicide, bullying, the negative effects of social media, how technology affects our brain, underage drinking, E-Cigarettes, vaping, juuling, and similar issues. ‘Community Matters’ aims to help educate people and solve problems in the local community. Marcee Tucker, one of the directors for the event, says that, “As a member of the Prevention Advisory Coalition, I care deeply about the youth. Through education and information, we hope to unite the youth, parents, and community in a United effort to improve the quality of life for youth. I’m so excited about the community coming together for this purpose. Your community matters to us.” Dr. Hank Smith will be the keynote speaker, followed by breakout sessions from Dr. Christy Kane, Collin Kartchner, and other local presenters.
