The identity of the woman killed in a 7-vehicle accident in Fort Duchesne on Highway 40 Tuesday afternoon has been released by Utah Highway Patrol. The victim of the crash was 65-year-old Sylvia K. Carrell of Lapoint. The accident occurred shortly after 1pm as six vehicles were stopped in the eastbound lane of Highway 40 directly in front of Ute Petroleum when a blue Toyota Tundra, not seeing the stationary line of vehicles, drove into the back of the line. Sylvia Carrell was the driver in the rear-most stationary vehicle that was struck by the blue pickup. Three people were taken to the hospital, one of which was the driver of the blue pickup. Evans Family Media extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Carrell at this very difficult time.
