Plenty of Basin families will hit the road to celebrate the Labor Day weekend and the Utah Highway Patrol has a strong message for drivers: Please do not text and drive. According to UHP Sgt. Kellie Oaks, texting and driving is causing fatalities all over the nation. “We are very worried about this weekend due to having five fatalities in our area since Pioneer Day,” says Sgt. Oaks. “Please commit to putting your phones away while you travel this weekend.” Even with gas prices shooting up across the country, travelers are still expected to be out in full force. Be safe and remember to drive completely undistracted.
