In addition to Highway 40 construction around Strawberry Reservoir and into Duchesne County, there will be other UDOT road projects this year in Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett Counties that will amount to approximately $21.55 million dollars. According to UDOT, these are safety enhancement projects that include new traffic signals and intersection realignments to pavement preservation work. The schedules will vary through the spring and summer. Some project highlights include realigning the access road intersection to the Moonshine Arch trailhead, completing the passing lane and road widening on U.S. 40 between Gusher and S.R. 88, upgrading a box culvert on S.R. 121, and resurfacing U.S. 40 east of Naples. “We’re working hard to upgrade the transportation system statewide, and U.S. 40 is a critical link in that system,” UDOT Region Three Director Rob Clayton said. “These projects are designed to make our roads last longer, improve safety, and help people get where they want to go.”
