Travelers beware. The Utah Department of Transportation Traffic Operations Center has issued a road weather alert with the forecast period outlined as noon on Friday through 6pm on Saturday. A significant storm is scheduled to bring large accumulations of snow starting Friday afternoon and the entire route of Highway 40 is included on the list of high concern for motorists. US-191 through the Uintah Basin and Uinta mountains is also included on the list of routes to be affected as are all mountain roads. “Snow will arrive in northern Utah Friday afternoon and slowly move southeast across the state Friday night and Saturday,” shares the announcement. “This storm will bring widespread snow showers and road snow accumulations to the vast majority of the state with the exception of some of the lower valleys in southern Utah.”
