UDOT Construction Update On Indian Canyon

UDOT announced that construction in Indian Canyon is continuing to move forward with three major projects taking place this month. First, crews are rebuilding pipe crossings near Milepost 260-262. This work is expected to take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to complete. A pilot car will guide traffic through the area during work hours as crews excavate one side of the road at a time to replace the pipe crossings. Travelers should expect brief delays. Second, crews are constructing chain-up/chain-off areas for trucks to safely pull off the road. Work is currently focused on excavating the road shoulders to create space for these areas. Throughout April, crews will continue building up the road base to establish a strong foundation. Finally, crews are gearing up to start a rock cut near milepost 264. There are multiple areas where crews must excavate the side of the mountain to have more room and in some areas there are large rocks that require crews to close a lane to have enough space to remove the rocks safely. Crews expect to start a rock cut near milepost 264 at the end of April.
