If you were a bit surprised to see construction crews back on Highway 40 in Vernal you weren’t alone but don’t worry. The extensive construction as part of the storm drain project truly is complete and the return of crews this week is just some finishing work. UDOT representative Geoff Dupaix explains that crews are lining the new pipes under the road. This was originally planned to be completed during the summer but was delayed. Crews on Main Street should be wrapped up by the end of the week. The UDOT project on SR 121, 500 North and 500 West, continues with crews replacing asphalt at the side street intersection areas along the project corridor the next two weeks. Drivers should expect temporary detours around the work. Crews will also be reconstructing manholes for utilities under the road, installing striping and road messaging, as well as continuing to clean up the shoulder areas of the Highway. Work will continue on this project from 7am to 8pm, up to 7 days a week.
