UBTech issued a press release this week with details about a new partnership that will use hands-on student training to help a vulnerable population. UBTech’s partnership with The Other Side Village will have UBTech construction students building tiny homes that the organization will be using to help transition individuals out of homelessness. The Other Side Village is currently building 60 tiny homes on Indiana Ave in Salt Lake City. The organization covers the costs of supplies for their partners and are excited to add UBTech to that list. Camille Winnie, Vice President at The Other Side Village, says, “This partnership not only supports our mission but also helps train the next generation of skilled professionals.” Students in UBTech’s Construction Technology program and the Electrical Technician and Cabinetry programs will be participating and UBTech has announced that they are set to begin work on the first tiny home soon, with plans to build two homes per year as part of the initiative.
