Uintah Basin Healthcare has teamed up with TriCounty Health to hold a Measles Vaccine Drive this Saturday and next. Measles is highly contagious and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The measles virus can remain infectious in the air and on surfaces for up to 2 hours after an infected person leaves the room. Those considered at high risk from Measles are the unvaccinated, infants under 12 months, and those who had only one shot in the 1960s. The Measles Vaccine Drive is taking place tomorrow at the Uintah Basin Healthcare Vernal Campus from 10am to 2pm and next Saturday, March 7th, at the Uintah Basin Healthcare Roosevelt Campus from 10am to 2pm. Vaccinations will be billed to private insurance or offered at free or reduced cost. Those that come to either Vaccine Drive can receive the vaccine while in your vehicle. Call TriCounty Health with any questions at 435-247-1177.
