UBATC Welding Fabrication Contest

Local young men and women are shining as they hone their technical skills learned at the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. On March 1st, welding students competed to see where their skills matched up for the Roosevelt versus Vernal welding competition. A total of 5 three-member teams competed at the Roosevelt campus. The Vernal fabrication high school team of Charlie Rich, Benchet Kenney, and Riley Smith took first place. The Roosevelt fabrication team of Kaden Labrum, Mark O’Driscoll, and Cody Guffey took second place. Norco, Airgas, High Stakes Field Services, and Sandhollow Precision Metal helped with the competition and donated prizes for the impressive youth.
