The Uintah Basin Association of Governments is welcoming more applications for the Weatherization Assistance Program. “The Weatherization Assistance Program is getting some extra funding starting in July and so we welcome new applications,” shares program coordinator Jeannie Powell. The program helps low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs. In order to qualify, the income guideline is that the applicant cannot make more than 200 percent of the current federal poverty income level. Priority is given to the elderly and disabled, households with high-energy consumption, emergency situations and homes with preschool-age children. After the weatherization improvements are made, most households average a savings of about $285 dollars per year. To apply for weatherization assistance, call
