U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Data Confirms Utah’s Leading Employment Status

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics released new data, confirming that Utah continues to lead the nation in job growth and with a strong economy. The new data is based on the June 2018 employment numbers. In total job growth, Utah is number 1 at 3.3 percent, followed by Idaho with 3 percent and Nevada at 2.9 percent. For private sector job growth, Utah is number 2 at 3.6 percent, behind Wyoming at 3.8 percent and ahead of Oregon at 3.6 percent. Utah’s current unemployment rate of 3 percent is number 11 in the nation. Hawaii leads the nation in lowest unemployment at 2.1 percent. Local counties are averaging higher in unemployment with Daggett County and Duchesne County at 4.6 percent and Uintah County at 4.8 percent.
