Another successful first is likely right around the corner for Vernal Theatre: LIVE with the four day run of Annie Jr. opening Wednesday, August 1st. Auditions were held on July 9th and the response was so overwhelming, theater owner and show director Nashelle Jackson decided to do a double cast and add two additional showings in order to give as many local kids the experience as possible. Each cast has 37 actors between the ages of 6 and 16. The learning experience doesn’t stop there, however, as the production crew is also led by a group of teens on lights, sound, backstage, helping with music, choreography, and even directing. The 70-plus kids have worked their guts out for the last three weeks and are ready to impress a local audience. Evening shows start at 7pm, rotating casts and running this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Each cast will also have a matinee performance, one on Friday and one on Saturday. Tickets are $6 at the door or $5 if purchased online in advance at www.vernaltheatre.com. Don’t miss seeing these amazing local kids as they perform a stage favorite!
