A semi truck driver is facing felony charges, including Aggravated Homicide, connected to the massive deadly pileup and fire that involved 26-vehicles on February 14, 2025, in the westbound Green River tunnel on Wyoming’s Interstate 80. According to court documents, 24-year-old Riaz Ahmad Noori is charged with 1 count of Aggravated Assault and Battery and 2 counts of Aggravated Homicide. The first crash that day was actually a Toyota Tundra that lost control due to ice and slush at the westbound tunnel’s exit. Several other vehicles had crashed and stopped inside the tunnel when Noori entered the scene traveling over the speed limit, crashing into a vehicle with four occupants as well as other vehicles, causing the fire that spread through the tunnel. 20-year-old Christopher Johnson, 22-year-old Quentin Romero, and 30-year-old Harmanjeet Singh each died while many others were seriously injured. Investigators emphasized in their findings that the other vehicles had come to a safe stop before Noori crashed into the scene. The Affidavit states that “human error was the primary factor contributing to these crashes.” An active warrant was issued for 24-year-old Riaz Ahmad Noori’s arrest.
