TriCounty Health Director on COVID-19 Spike

The Director of TriCounty Health continues to educate the public on the latest with COVID-19 and unfortunately it’s not great news this week. Director Kirk Benge visited the 105.5 Eagle Country studio on Tuesday and shared that there has been 108 new cases locally in the last week. “That is triple what we’ve been seeing,” says Benge, who estimates that the last few months have averaged between 30 and 40 cases per week so a jump to over 100 is very significant. Ashley Regional Medical Center reported on Monday that they have 7 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 between the ages of 30 and 65, something Benge says is a result of many people in that age range choosing not to get the vaccine. Of course, TriCounty Health continues to encourage all that can to get the vaccine right away and to talk to your Doctor about the vaccine if you have questions.
