TriCounty Health Assures Local WIC Users of Program’s Availability

Monday was the third day of the government shutdown but regardless of the if’s and when’s of that situation, TriCounty Health officials are offering local WIC(Wick) users an assurance that their benefits remain unaffected regardless of shutdown or any hiccups that follow.  Either way, an agreement is in place that keeps the program running on full benefits. “Obviously prenatal health is critical to overall health and this program will continue to provide supplemental nutrition to moms and kids locally,” shares TriCounty Health Director Jordan Mathis. The TriCounty Health WIC program served an average of 1,300 local individuals each month in 2017. That amounted to the program giving approximately $428,000 dollars in supplemental food benefits to program enrollees.
