It’s no secret to locals of the Basin that there is plenty of breathtaking scenery and outdoor recreation to make the area a vacation destination. The folks at the Travel Channel are apparently in on the news as they’ve included Vernal among their list of the 10 best small towns in the United States for big vacations. Dinosaur National Monument, fly fishing on the Green River, boating Flaming Gorge, camping and cliff diving at Steinaker and Red Fleet, as well as horseback riding and mountain biking are listed among their top attractions that earn Vernal the honor of making the list. Other cities that made the list include Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Fredericksburg, Texas; Chatham, Massachusetts; Tallahassee, Florida; and Lodi, California.
