Training Success for Local Firefighters

Training is a crucial part of any job or position but the training of firefighters is of special importance. Regional fire school was held on Saturday at the Western Park and drew a pool of firefighters from Uintah and Duchesne Counties. According to Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond, around 80 firefighters attended the training put on by the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy which held special training in extrication, forcible entry, engine and aerial operations, firefighter rescue and live fire training. The event could not have happened without the funds donated by XTO Energy. “The training went well,” says Raymond. “Our volunteer firefighters took time off from work and home to receive invaluable training. They do this because they love the communities they serve. They learn to use the tools and trucks provided with public money to be ready and prepared when the pager goes off.”
