The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service has ordered temporary trail closures in the High Uintas Wilderness Area of Ashley National Forest. “Several trails accessing the High Uintas Wilderness Area are closed due to safety hazards from snags and deadfall as a result of the East Fork Fire,” shares Ashley National Forest. The East Fork Fire started last August about 13 miles north of Hanna near the Upper Stillwater Reservoir in Duchesne County. The trail closures include: Lake Fork Trail from the trailhead to the junction of the Highline Trail; Brown Duck Basin Trail from the trailhead to the junction with Forest Service Trail 123; 123 from the southern junction with 062 to the northern junction with 062; Rock Creek Trail from the wilderness boundary to the junction with the Highline Trail; 071 from the junction with 069 to the junction with the Highline Trail; and Fish Creek Trail. The only exception to the closure order is those with special use authorization.
