A traffic stop in Duchesne County over the weekend ended in DUI arrest. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the officer checked with dispatch and it was confirmed that the vehicle was not registered. During this time, an additional officer arrived on scene and deployed a K9 for a free air sniff around the vehicle. The K9 gave a positive indication to illegal drugs/narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle recovered substances consistent with Psilocybin Mushrooms, Methamphetamine, Heroin, and a piece of tin foil with residue consistent with Heroin or Fentanyl. Based on field sobriety testing observations, it was determined that 59-year-old Chanel Lynn Martinez Manning was under the influence of drugs and impaired. Manning was booked in Duchesne County Jail for Possession of Controlled Substances, DUI, Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure to Register a Vehicle.
