If you live in the Rangely area there were a few important announcements recently made you’ll need to know about. On June 19th, the Town of Rangely announced that, effective immediately, the Town of Rangely is in Stage 1 Water Restrictions. What does this mean for residents? Customers are not required to curtail any water usage but are encouraged to begin saving as much water as possible. No fines, penalties, or citations will be issued during this stage. A list of suggestions for residents has been provided on the Town of Rangely sites. A few examples include collecting rainwaiter from your roof using rain barrels as single family residences can collect up to 110 gallons of rainwater for outside use, repairing leaks in the house, switching to low-flow fixtures, xeriscaping your yard, limiting the length of showers, and more. A second announcement to note for the area within Rio Blanco County is the implementation of Stage 1 Fire Restrictions. This means no campfires except within agency-provided fire grates, no burn barrels or pits, no smoking except within enclosed vehicles or buildings, no exploding targets of illegal fireworks, and more.
