Friday was a crazy weather day in northern Utah with several tornados touching down in unexpected areas. Heavy hail accompanied thunderstorms across much of northern Utah and a tornado that touched down at 7500 feet elevation at about 1:50pm in Fruit Heights received major attention online. Not to be outdone, videos were also posted a few hours later on Friday of a tornado in Uintah County near Jensen. Several of the funnel videos and photos shared were taken inside Dinosaur National Monument. Others were shared by people traveling on Highway 40 heading to or from Dinosaur, Colorado. Large hail was also reported in eastern Utah. National Weather Service had previously warned there was risk of severe storms on Friday but Evans Family Media is still waiting for confirmation and details about Friday’s tornado.
