It’s been confirmed. A long path of destruction to the forest in Indian Canyon was actually caused by a tornado. The preliminary damage results released by National Weather Service show that on June 19th at 9:13am, the Indian Canyon Tornado in Duchesne County traveled 2.08 miles with a maximum width of 880 yards and peak winds of 125 miles per hour. The tornado traveled near the summit of Highway 191 in remote southwestern Duchesne County.
