Throughout the state of Utah big game animals are doing well, with specific pockets of the state doing extremely well. Division of Wildlife Resources biologists are recommending that more hunts be added to help manage populations. Relevant to the Uintah Basin is the proposal that new bison hunts be offered in the Book Cliffs of eastern Utah. It is also proposed to have new muzzleloader and archery pronghorn hunts in eastern Utah. The DWR will be addressing these items as well as new archery hunts to reduce deer in cities and towns in Utah County, plans for the management of bighorn sheep and mountain goats, and the rules that will guide hunting for waterfowl for the next three years at a series of public meetings. To participate, the DWR asks that you review the biologists recommendations found at

www.wildlife.utah.gov/public_meetings

and then attend the Northeastern Region meeting tonight,
Thursday, November 15th at 5:30pm
at the DWR Northeastern Region Office in Vernal.
