USU Uintah Basin Associate Vice President Dr. James Taylor gave a thorough report on the value of USU in the Basin during Tuesday’s Chamber luncheon. USU Uintah Basin had 748 students enrolled as of Fall 2021 with 29 faculty members and 38 full-time staff. The school has $746,000 dollars in donated scholarships. That comes to about $1,600 dollars per student which is very high compared to the rest of Utah. USU Uintah Basin houses the Bingham Research Center which performs annual research amounting to more than $2 million dollars in grants and contracts. The research center has more than 100 undergraduate researchers each year. Dr. Taylor also emphasized that USU contributes substantially to the local economy and of course contributes to the quality of life of students and their future.
