TriCounty Health Department is committed to the health of eastern Utah families, including those diagnosed with diabetes. A rare opportunity is coming to the region and as a result TriCounty Health is doing their part to ensure locals can participate. The Taking Control of Your Diabetes Conference is coming to Salt Lake City in April. The national conference only comes to select cities so this is a rare opportunity to have it this close, shares TriCounty Health. The conference founder, Dr. Steve Edelman, has spent his life defining a new way to teach individuals how to live healthy and happy lives with diabetes. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 15 and has lived well with the disease for over four decades. TriCounty Health Department is offering a scholarship along with the Uintah Basin Medical Center that will provide transportation to the event, all meals, and reimbursement for the registration fee. Those interested can apply through TriCounty Health but applications must be submitted by March 12th and recipients will be notified by March 15th if they are eligible. The all day conference is being held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City on April 8th.
