Who could forget the day in June of 2014 when a blue 10 ton tractor broke halfway through the Browns Park Swinging Bridge and sat suspended over the Green River? For over two years, Colorado officials have worked to secure funding that will enable the bridge to be repaired and fully functional again and the funding has finally come together. The one lane swinging bridge has long been considered a favorite tourist attraction in Northwest Colorado. The state of Colorado is stepping up to see that the Swinging Bridge in Browns Park gets repaired for motorized use again. Moffat County will use a half a million dollar grant from the State of Colorado along with the existing funds of $160,000 dollars. The BLM, 7 County Infrastructure Coalition, and others are also contributing to cover the $1.5 million dollar cost for the repair. Once repaired, certain citizens in Daggett County will receive improved emergency response services.
