Sweetwater County law enforcement assisted Idaho authorities this week in an armed robbery investigation that resulted in the arrest of a woman and two men in Rock Springs on Tuesday. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell, his office was contacted
on Tuesday afternoon
by Twin Falls, Idaho, Police Department because a suspect in an armed robbery that took place in Twin Falls on Monday had been tracked to Rock Springs. Meanwhile, officers of the Rock Springs Police Department were dispatched to Walmart concerning a shoplifting case by two males with multiple tattoos who fled in a car with an Idaho license plate. County officers pulled over the vehicle and K-9 deputy Huk alerted the officer to the presence of drugs. A search was performed recovering not only drug items but also the handgun described by the Idaho authorities that was used in the armed robbery. 19-year-old Amber Nicole Spradling, 24-year-old Colton Jeffress, and 30-year-old Cameron Don Courtright, were taken into custody without incident. During booking, Spradling was found in possession of methamphetamine. Sweetwater County is working with Idaho authorities and the three will remain behind bars as the investigation continues.
